LAPD Officer Receives Jail for Workers Compensation Fraud

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Anita H. Dymant sentenced a 9 year veteran LAPD officer to 180 days in the County Jail and ordered her to pay $11,191 in restitution for illegally collecting disability payments while working as a security guard at Staples Center and Dodger Stadium. The jury convicted Officer Mariana Carmen Gallegos after deliberating just 30 minutes.
